Marine Surveys Canada, like our namesake, performs marine surveys on yachts and small recreational craft, with offices near Toronto, Ontario, Edmonton, Alberta and Winnipeg, Manitoba. Our marine surveyors are well-versed in vessel construction, ABYC, NFPA, NMEA and Transport Canada standards. Many years of marine industry experience are brought to bear on every marine survey commissioned by our customers. Whether you are seeking sound advice on a boat purchase or renewing your insurance policy, Marine Surveys Canada will provide unparalleled expertise and value.

Condition & Valuation surveys are commonly performed on most used boats 16 feet in length or larger, and are usually required to obtain insurance, especially on boats older than 10 years. A survey can save a prospective buyer thousands of dollars by advising them of possible defects and by determining the fair market value of the vessel. The seller of a boat may also request a survey to determine the fair market value before placing the boat on the market.
The survey will include inspection of all parts of the vessel, where accessible, including the condition and safety of all accessible parts and equipment, to determine the fair market and replacement value of the vessel. Recommendations will include what must be done to ensure safety and whether the boat is sound for its intended service.
